Jaye Makinson

Anchor/Producer

Jaye Makinson was born in Vancouver and grew up in a small town in eastern Ontario. She went to York University, where she studied English and Communications.

Following graduation and after working for a year at a Toronto newspaper in the advertising department, she decided to return to school to pursue her passion: Broadcast Journalism.

Jaye received a diploma from Loyalist College in Belleville in 2005 and began her career at Global News in Peterborough soon after.

Jaye has worn a few hats over the years, working as a videographer, anchor and producer for Global.

She has two young children, Olivia and Ben, who keep her very busy.
