Germain Ma is a videographer with Global News Durham.
She first joined the Global News team in December 2022 as a video journalist in Peterborough before heading to Durham Region in January 2025.
Her journalism career began with CityNews radio in Kitchener, where she contributed to coverage of the 2022 derecho that won an RTDNA Canada Central Region award.
Germain loves the thrill of crime stories, the joy of telling a heartwarming human interest tale, and is passionate about journalism’s ability to provide a voice to marginalized and diverse communities.
Germain was born and raised in Toronto. She holds a journalism diploma from Seneca College and a bachelor’s degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
