In the business for 14 years, Dawn started out as a newspaper reporter with stints at The Observer in Sarnia, Ont., The Kingston Whig-Standard and Windsor Star.
Dawn switched to online journalism in 2008 and spent seven years at Microsoft and AOL/Huffington Post Media Group. She worked on their web portals covering a variety of beats including finance, lifestyle, travel and tech. She also served as homepage editor for both publications.
Dawn has taught editing essentials at Ryerson University and in the spring of 2015, she spent six weeks in Tanzania teaching journalism workshops to mass communications undergraduate students at Tumaini University on behalf of Journalists for Human Rights.
Upon arriving home, she joined the Toronto Star to help launch one of Canada’s first news publications for tablet and assisted in turning a newspaper-first culture into a digital one.
During her free time, Dawn runs the streets of Toronto and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
