Brent Pushkarenko

Provincial News Director/Station Manager

Brent Pushkarenko is provincial radio news director for Corus Entertainment and station manager for Corus Radio Edmonton.

Brent’s responsibilities include the execution of news for 630 CHED, Global News Radio 880 and QR Calgary, and overseeing the Edmonton radio cluster that includes CHED, GNR, CISN Country 103.9 and Chuck @ 92.5.

His media career dates back to the 1980s, working in the fields of radio, television and newspaper, with stops in Calgary, Prince George, Yellowknife, Hamilton/Brantford and Regina, before arriving in Edmonton to help start iNews880 as assistant news director to Bob Layton at Corus in 2008.

After a nearly 10-year hiatus, in which he served as a senior/executive producer at CTV Edmonton, Brent returned to Corus in June 2021.

Brent’s resume includes multiple RTNDA/RTDNA regional and national awards, as well as AMPIA awards.

In the few hours you don’t see him in the Edmonton radio building, Brent enjoys his time with family, watching news and sports, and finding out where the fish are biting.
