    A fire on Monday night destroyed an historic home in Roseneath, Peterborough. The blaze on County Road 24 broke out just after 11 p.m. No one was living in the home as neighbours say the building was for sale and undergoing renovations. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

  • Roseneath Carousel featured on new Canada Post stamp collection of vintage carousels
    The historic Roseneath Carousel is part of a new stamp collection from Canada Post celebrating vintage carousels in Canada. Built in 1906 in Kansas, the Roseneath Carousel arrived to the community in 1932 and has been maintained and operated by the Roseneath Agricultural Society ever since. Secretary/treasurer says the stamp recognition was a 15-year project.

    Emergency crews took more than two hours to extricate a driver following a cement mixer truck crash in Northumberland County on Monday morning. The crash occurred along County Road 24 near the village of Roseneath. The driver was airlifted to a Kingston hospital. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
