RALEIGH, N.C. – A North Carolina State Fair official say five people were injured during a ride accident.
State Fair spokesman Brian Long says officials have received preliminary reports that the passengers were injured when the ride started up again as they were getting off on Thursday.

He says two of those injured “appear to be serious; the other three not as serious.”
Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison told a news conference the injured riders ranged in age from 14 to 39.
