Canadian singer Suzie McNeil engaged

MONTREAL — Canadian pop rock singer Suzie McNeil is planning to walk down the aisle.

The Juno nominee, whose hits include “Believe” and “Supergirl,” got engaged to musician Andrew Mactaggart this week while in Las Vegas to celebrate her 32nd birthday.

Mactaggart popped the question with a ring from Toronto’s Corona Jewelry Company — and then the happy couple popped open a bottle of Moet & Chandon champagne to celebrate.

While in Vegas — where McNeil had a residency at Pure nightclub earlier this year — McNeil and Mactaggart took in Canadian superstar Shania Twain’s show at Caesars Palace.

In addition to releasing three albums since 2007, McNeil was a finalist on the reality show Rockstar: INXS, starred as Oz in the original Toronto production of the Queen musical We Will Rock You and served as a judge on the first four seasons of YTV’s The Next Star.

McNeil is also the voice of the ubiquitous Marineland commercial jingles.

Her most recent album was last year’s Dear Love.

McNeil was previously engaged to stage actor and singer Scott Walters.
