Fire forces partial Etobicoke hospital evacuation

TORONTO – A number of patients needed to be removed from the Etobicoke General Hospital after a fire broke out overnight.

Fire officials described it as a minor fire and said that the sprinklers took care of most of it.

Some emergency room patients were escorted outside for a short time.

They were sheltered in Toronto EMS buses until it was safe to return inside the building.

No injuries were reported.
