TORONTO – The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France was evacuated following a bomb threat Friday, a police official told Reuters.
The tower was evacuated just after 2 p.m. local time, the news agency reported.
The tower was subject to a bomb threat in March, forcing a temporary closure.
The tower is occasionally evacuated because of such warnings – at least once last year and twice in 2011. The 324-meter (1,063-foot) tower is one of the world’s top tourist attractions, with millions of visitors a year.
