Thunderstorm warnings in effect for parts of Alberta

EDMONTON – Environment Canada issued severe thunderstorm watches and warnings for parts of central and southern Alberta Thursday.

As of 8:30 p.m., the only severe thunderstorm warning remaining in place was for the Hanna, Coronation and Oyen regions.

This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.

Environment Canada asks people to monitor weather conditions and listen for updated statements. If threatening weather approaches, people are asked to take immediate safety precautions.
