WINNIPEG — A cyclist was hit by a pickup truck and killed on Highway 201 Sunday evening, RCMP say.
Witnesses said a 2004 Ford pickup was headed west when a cyclist, who was headed east, swerved into traffic, police said.
Emerson RCMP were called to the scene of the crash, three kilometers east of Letellier, at about 7 p.m.
The cyclist, a 27-year-old Roseau River First Nation man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 50-year-old man who was driving the pickup truck and his 35-year-old female passenger weren’t hurt.
Police continue to investigate but aren’t contemplating charges at this time, they said.
