The man who pleaded guilty to stealing an iPad from a woman in a wheelchair has lost his fight to have his sentence reduced.
Last May, Cassie Campbell who is deaf, has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair, was trying to board an elevator at the Metrotown station when her iPad was snatched.
Campbell has cerebral palsy and needs an iPad to communicate.
Transit police released video of the incident and two men were arrested, including David Ned.
In February, Ned pleaded guilty to theft under five thousand dollars.
He was sentenced to one year in jail plus two years probation.
His lawyer argued his sentence was too harsh, but B.C.’s appeal court rejected that argument, partly because of Ned’s criminal history.
