Emergency crews advise property owners who have experienced flooding in the past to prepare for more right now.
“These areas, if you look back on the history of the North Okanagan the last 20, 30 years, it’s the same places primarily,” Brent Watson, with the local Emergency Management program, says of the current flooding. “A lot of these places are in flood plains and they’re in low lying areas. So we’re trying to get the message out, if you’ve had flooding in the past, now’s the time to prepare.”
Crews removed a blockage on Ashton Creek near Enderby that caused flooding Wednesday.
