TORONTO – Eight people are reported dead after a fire in an 11-storey factory in Bangladesh.
The dead include a ruling party politician and a top official in the country’s powerful clothing manufacturers’ trade group.
The fire engulfed the lower floors of the factory after it had closed for the day.
Word of the deadly blaze came as the death toll from the collapse of a garment factory in Bangladesh about two weeks ago passed 950.
