SASKATOON – The public has opened their arms for 25 neglected horses seized by the Saskatchewan SPCA in March.
The society issued a public plea to find new homes for the animals after they had been removed from previous owner due to issues with their care.
“Initially we were concerned that it might take weeks to find suitable homes for all of these horses,” says Kaley Pugh, Manager of Animal Protection Services.
To their surprise, hundreds of phone calls and emails flooded in and all horses were adopted in just over a day.
A number of people offered to take more than one horse.
“We are very grateful for the amazing support we received this week. Thank you to everyone who offered to help in any way with these horses,” said Pugh.
