Winnipeg police have arrested and charged three men and one teen in the stabbing murder of 18-year-old Tyler William Ranville.
A police cruiser was flagged down on Aug. 18 just after 11 p.m. and told about an injured man near Sargent Avenue and McMicken Street. Ranville was found with serious stab wounds and rushed to hospital in critical condition where he died on Aug. 27.

An investigation by the service’s Homicide Unit found Ranville had been near Sargent Avenue and Young Street when a “dispute occurred with a groupof males.” Ranville was stabbed before he stumbled into traffic and collapsed.
Four suspects were identified and arrested by Winnipeg police.
A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody on Aug. 31 2017 near Ellice Avenue and Langside Street.
On Sept. 1 Nasim Abddullahi Ahmed, 18, was arrested near Sargent Avenue and Balmoral Street and Yonas Gebremekeal, also 18, was arrested in the area of Sargent Avenue and Young Street.
A few days later on Sept. 5 Winnipeg police saw the fourth suspect travelling as a passenger in a vehicle in the 1800 block of Alexander Avenue. The vehicle tried to flee from police and ended up hitting a cruiser and a tree. Abdullahi Jemal Ahmed, 20, fled on foot and was arrested in the 1800 block of Pacific Avenue.
The three men and teen were all charged with manslaughter.
