They were led by Tyler Chow, whose seven touchdowns and 103.5 rushing yards per game were tops in Canada West.

Added to the mix last year was rookie Colton Klassen, who came to the Huskies after leading the Canadian Junior Football League in rushing yards with the Regina Thunder.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Both are back this year and Huskie head coach Scott Flory plans on taking advantage of his dynamic threats.

“We’ve got a personal package where they’re both already in,” Flory said.

“We’ve got that in the playbook already so that’s built in where those two guys are going to be on the field at the same time multiple times for sure.”

Chow and Klassen are both looking beyond personal achievements as they get ready for the 2017 season.

“I’m just really focused on being a better teammate,” Chow said.

“At the end of the day, I don’t care about numbers, it’s all about being a teammate.”

Klassen said they are also focused on helping those below them on the depth chart become better.

“We want to make them better, they’re trying to make us better, so competition breeds success, that’s what I believe in,” Klassen said.

The Huskies see their first game action on Aug. 25 when they travel to Hamilton to take on McMaster in a non-conference game.
