ATVers donate poker-run proceeds to hospital’s diagnostic imaging department

Proceeds from a June 3, 2017, poker run are now in the hands of the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation in Lindsay, Ont.

The Kawartha ATV Association (KATVA) chose the foundation to receive money this year. The ride featured 153 riders who took to the trails in Burnt River, Ont. for the purpose of raising funds for the hospital and raising awareness of their sport. The riders raised $8,670.

“With this generous donation, the Kawartha ATV Association is supporting the best care for patients of all ages,” said hospital foundation executive director Erin Coons. “We’re very grateful to have their support and wish them safe riding.”

The money is being directed to enhance X-ray services in the Diagnostic Imaging Department of Ross Memorial Hospital. The department performs 37,500 exams annually, for conditions ranging from broken bones to pneumonia, and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
