Winnipegger Cody Glass was selected sixth overall by the Las Vegas Golden Knights at the 2017 NHL Draft.

The centre led the WHL’s Portland Winterhawks with 94 points in 69 games last season. He also scored four goals and five assists in 11 playoff games. Glass entered the draft ranked as the sixth top North American skater.

Internationally, Glass represented Canada at both the 2017 IIHF World U18 Championship and the 2015 World U17 Hockey Challenge.

Glass joins three other Manitobans on the Golden Knights. Forwards Cody Eakin and Brendan Leipsic as well as goalie Calvin Pickard were all taken by Las Vegas in Wednesday’s expansion draft.
