Even though it’s the first day of summer, winter is coming.

In it, Lord Baelish appears to offer Sansa advice, telling her, “Don’t fight the North. Or the South. Fight every battle, everywhere, always in your mind.”

Jon Snow also interjects, saying, “For centuries our families fought together against their common enemy. Despite their differences, together. We need to do the same if we’re going to survive because the enemy is real. It’s always been real.”

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

At the end of the trailer, Sansa returns saying, “When the snow falls, and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.”

With a shortened season this time around (there are only seven episodes instead of the usual 10), there will be more action and drama crammed into each episode, and this trailer has certainly upped the anticipation of what’s to come.

HBO has already announced that the season finale will be the longest Game of Thrones episode to date, lasting 81 minutes.

Game of Thrones fans took to Twitter to share their excitement over the newly released footage.

Season 7 of ‘Game of Thrones’ starts up on July 16 on HBO Canada.
