Hamilton police looking for two persons of interest in fatal stabbing

Hamilton police are looking for two persons of interest in a fatal stabbing over the weekend.

Detectives say Dwayne Bride, 42, was involved in a verbal altercation on Bay Street South, in front of the apartment building near Bold Street, just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police say that’s when an individual on the east side of the building threw eggs at Bride and two people on bikes.

In a news release Monday afternoon, police say they believe the two cyclists assaulted Bride who was found in a pool of blood and was later pronounced dead in hospital.

Hamilton police have released the following descriptions of the persons of interest:

#1 – Male, white, 5’9″, thin build, 16 -20 years, 120 – 150lbs, short light brown/ blonde hair, wearing a light grey hoodie, cargo shorts and light coloured sneakers. This male was riding a newer mountain bike.

#2 – Male, white, 5’6″ – 5’8″, 120 – 150lbs, slender build, 15 – 20 years, short brown cropped hair, wearing a purple or burgundy hoodie with possible logo and jean shorts. He too was riding a newer mountain bike possibly red in colour. The hoodie had a freshly acquired egg stain on the back.

Investigators are also asking for the egg tosser, or anyone else who may have seen the altercation, to call them.
