About six months ago Tyler Hache of Moncton says he packed his bags and headed off to Nashville on a whim.
“I find the big thing in Nashville is that they want to see that you are ambitious enough to just book a trip to get there in front of them,” Hache said.
So he did.
Hache hopped on a plane with no agent, no music manager, just his guitar and mind full of his original music and lyrics.
While in Nashville, Hache said he got to audition for a music management company called RGK – a company that represents some big name recording artists including Dean Brody, Tim Hicks and Corb Lund.
Captured by Hache’s original folk sound and good old fashioned Maritime work ethic, he said the company now wants him to travel down to the music city every three months to work with their professional song writers to put out a five-song EP.
He said it’s like a dream come true.
“I started playing the guitar when I was 7,” Hache said.
But he says his studies are just as important as his music career.

“I always say in order to write good stuff you have to be reading good stuff,” Hache said. “I guess if you are ingesting good literature that reflects in your writing I guess.”
When Hache is not chasing his dream off to Nashville to be a recording artist, he is a full-time student at Mount Allison University in Sackville, N.B. studying English literature.
“It’s hard to balance it sometimes, but I guess in the daytime I work on my school and my studies and then at night time I work on my writing.”
He said it appears all of his hard work seems to be paying off.
“The guys that I was speaking with in Nashville they like that I was studying and taking my studies seriously.”
Hache returned from Nashville a few weeks ago and will be headed back there later this spring.
