A Texas judge presiding over a citizenship ceremony in San Antonio last week told a group of new Americans if they don’t like President-elect Donald Trump then “go to another country.”
On Friday, during a naturalization ceremony, Judge John Primomo briefly lectured the new citizens about incoming president Trump, KENS 5 News reported.
“I can assure you that whether you voted for him or you did not vote for him, if you are a citizen of the United States he is your president and he will be your president and if you do not like that, you need to go to another country,” Primomo said during the ceremony.

According to the news station, the judge also made mention of anti-Trump protesters and NFL players who have protested by kneeling during the national anthem before football games. The football players have been doing that since the NFL pre-season as a protest against police shootings of several unarmed black men.
“I detest that, because you can protest things that happen in this country; you have every right to,” Primomo told KENS 5 News. “You don’t do that by offending national symbols like the national anthem and the flag of the United States.”
During Trump’s campaign, the billionaire pledged to build a wall along the Mexico border and to deport an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants living in the U.S. The president-elect has not detailed how he will proceed and recently lowered the estimate of the number of anticipated deportees.

Primomo told KENS 5 News his comments were not to be political but more unifying and respectful of the incoming office. Primomo also noted to the news station that he did not vote for Trump.
