RCMP say a man wanted in a violent home invasion in southern Alberta last week may be in Calgary.
Police said a man knocked on the door of a residence in Exshaw at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20. The homeowner answered the door, at which time the suspect forced his way inside.
The victim was allegedly robbed at knifepoint before the suspect took off in a dark grey Toyota Rav4, which was also stolen from the home.
On Wednesday, Canmore RCMP identified the suspect as 22-year-old Jarred Ivan Genaille of Calgary.
An Alberta-wide warrant has been issued for Genaille’s arrest.
He’s facing several charges including robbery, break and enter, forcible confinement, dangerous operating of a motor vehicle and flight from police.
“Genaille’s whereabouts are currently unknown although he may be in the Calgary area,” RCMP said in a news release.
RCMP warned Genaille is considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached if spotted. Instead, the public is advised to call 911 if they see him.

He is described as about 5’9” to 5’10” tall with an average build, short black hair and brown eyes. He was clean shaven at the time, wearing a black oversized hoodie with white markings, baggy blue jeans and black running shoes.
RCMP said he has a “very noticeable” injury to his left eye and a scar of the left side of his head.
The village of Exshaw is located about 90 kilometres west of Calgary.
