Police are looking to speak with witnesses after a 23-year-old Toronto man was shot and killed in Mississauga Saturday.

Peel Regional Police were called to the Streetsville Kinsmen Senior Citizens Centre on Queen Street South just before 4 a.m. after people reported hearing gun shots.

Officers found Deshawn Nicholson with multiple gunshot wounds. Peel Paramedics were called to try to revive him, but he died at the scene.

Police updated the media on the investigation Sunday afternoon as officers continued to process the scene for evidence.

A police spokesman said the centre is rented out for special events and there was a birthday party going on inside, but it’s not known if Nicholson was invited to attend.

Investigators haven’t released suspect descriptions.

The spokesman said the incident occurred shortly before a man was found at a gas station near Creditview Road and Eglinton Avenue West and a second man walked into hospital – both with gunshot wounds. One of the men is still in serious condition. Police said there is nothing to connect the shootings at this point.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the homicide bureau at 905-453-2121 ext. 3205 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
