Once complete, the home will be moved to 726 17th St. W. It is projected to be ready for occupancy by September 2017.

“[It] will house a hard-working, young couple dedicated to their family’s needs and growth,” said Jan Adamson, executive director of Habitat for Humanity Prince Albert.

The federal and provincial governments are jointly contributing nearly $56,000 towards the construction of the bungalow.

Adamson said the total cost will likely be in the $150,000 to $160,000 range with the remainder coming from prior builds’ mortgage payments and sales proceeds from ReStore.

She added that homes are sold to Habitat for Humanity families at a fair market value based on an independent appraisal. Each family contributes 500 hours to building their home or other houses for the non-profit organization.
