Humane society to discuss fate of dogs police say mauled girl

WELLAND, Ont. – The fate of three Rottweilers that police say mauled a five-year-old girl in Pelham, Ont., last week could soon become clearer.

Officials with the Welland Humane Society are expected to speak on the matter today.

The organization removed the dogs from the property following the attack on Friday afternoon.

They are being held pending a police investigation.

Niagara Regional Police have provided few details on the incident.

The child remains in critical condition at Toronto’s Sick Kids hospital, where she was airlifted once she stabilized.
