Police launch hotline for Etobicoke break-ins and sex assaults

TORONTO – Toronto Police have opened up a special hotline in relation to a string of break-and-enters and sex assaults in Etobicoke that took place this past week.

The community is encouraged to call 416-808-2280 with any information regarding the investigation.

Police have been actively searching for a suspect after a series of break-ins early this week in west-end Toronto.

Investigators say six homes were broken into near the area bordered by Bloor Street West, Islington Avenue, The Queensway and the Humber River, and in some of the incidents, women were sexually assaulted by a male suspect.

One of the incidents involved a 91-year-old woman who called police with her medical alert system after she was allegedly groped by the suspect.

Police say the victims ranged in age.
