Man in critical condition after ‘near-drowning incident’ in Leduc

RCMP said a 24-year-old man is recovering in hospital following a “near-drowning incident” at the Leduc Recreation Centre Friday morning.

Mounties said officers and Leduc Emergency Medical Services were called to the pool around 11:30 a.m. where emergency crews provided medical assistance to the man who was unconscious and not breathing.

The man was rushed to hospital in Edmonton where police said he remains in “critical but stable condition.”

Leduc RCMP continue to investigate the incident but said it appears there was nothing suspicious about it.
