Elderly woman killed by hit-and-run in Brampton

BRAMPTON, Ont. – Peel police say they have a person in custody in connection with a fatal hit and run in Brampton.

Investigators say an elderly woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Chrysler Drive late Sunday night after leaving a wedding.

The woman, whose name hasn’t been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver took off, but was tracked down by wedding guests and later taken into custody, though no charges have yet been laid.
