Charlie Sheen claims that U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump once gave him fake diamond-and-platinum cufflinks as a wedding gift.
Sheen, who fully admits that he’s “not a fan” of Trump, said on The Graham Norton Show that the mogul approached him out of the blue at a restaurant several years ago.

“I’m reminded of a time about five years ago, I was at a dinner with my ex-wife Brooke … and about halfway through, I noticed Donald staring at my watch,” Sheen said.
“He says … ‘I want to give you an early wedding gift as a gesture from me and Melania — and she doesn’t say a word; she’s very sweet and very pretty but just kinda sits there,” he continued. “Anywho, so he says, ‘These are platinum diamond Harry Winston,’ and he pulls off his cufflinks and he gives them to me.”
Curious about the cufflinks, Sheen took them to an appraiser about six months later to see what they were worth.

“She took the loupe, spent about four seconds and kind of recoiled from it — much like people do from Trump,” he said. “She says, ‘In their finest moment, this is cheap pewter and bad zirconias.’ And they’re stamped ‘Trump.'”
“I just thought, what does this really say about the man that he said, ‘Here’s a great wedding gift,’ and it’s just a bag of dog s**t?”
In a New York Times article published Monday, it was revealed that Trump gave another similar pair of “diamond encrusted” cufflinks to his former lawyer Roy Cohn. After Cohn died of AIDS, his belongs were transferred to his partner, Peter Fraser. When Fraser got the cufflinks appraised, it turns out they were complete “knockoffs.”
Sheen married Brooke Mueller in 2008, and they divorced in 2011. Trump has not yet commented on Sheen’s claims.
