Calgarians accused of targeting seniors in contractor scam turn themselves in

Two suspects accused of targeting seniors in multiple contractor scams have turned themselves in to Calgary police.

Officers took 58-year-old Geralyn Plaviak and 55-year-old Michael Arsenault into custody on Wednesday evening.

Investigators allege the pair was involved in scamming a senior with Alzheimer’s, among others. According to police, the senior paid over $8,500 to have roof maintenance performed on his home, but no work was ever completed.

Police also charged 55-year-old Kenneth Gliddon with two counts of fraud over $5,000 and three counts of fraud under $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 8.
