CALGARY – Police are warning the public about a group of men who they say pose as contractors in order to defraud senior citizens.

In the most recent incident, three men approached an 81-year-old Calgary woman at her Canyon Meadows home and offered to provide an appraisal for insulation work.

When the suspects left, the senior realized she was missing numerous pieces of jewelry.

In addition, it’s alleged the suspects were taking deposits while not authorized to do so according to the Fair Trading Act.

Police have charged 54-year-old Michael John Arsenault with a handful of charges including one count of theft over $5,000, one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000, one count of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and one count of possession of stolen property, responsible for the original offence.
