WINNIPEG – The investigation into a serious collision on McPhillips St. has been handed over to the province’s Independent Investigation Unit (IIU).
The IIU investigates serious incidents involving police in Manitoba.
Winnipeg Police officers were in pursuit one of the vehicles involved in the crash, heading westbound on Redwood Ave. at around 2:45 a.m.
Less than a minute after the chase began the suspect vehicle collided with the passenger side of a car at the intersection of Redwood and McPhillips.
Four youths in the suspect vehicle and two adults in the car that was hit were all taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
All lanes of McPhillips St. were closed at Mountain Ave. as investigators worked the scene.
