Dangerously dry conditions have led to another fire ban in Saskatchewan. Open fires and fireworks are now prohibited in a northwest portion of the province.
The provincial government announced the ban on Tuesday because there has been no significant rainfall in this area recently.

The fire ban covers all provincial parks and recreation sites on the west side of the commercial forest to the Alberta border. This encompasses Meadow Lake, Makwa Lake, Steele Narrows, and Clearwater River provincial parks, and Bronson Forest and Chitek Lake.
Prince Albert National Park is not included in the ban.
CSA-approved propane heating devices and barbecues, pressurized stoves and charcoal briquettes used in a ministry-approved firebox are permitted for cooking.
The province has revoked all burn notification numbers issued to people planning to burn in or within 4.5 kilometres of provincial forests in the designated area.
This fire ban and others currently in effect in Saskatchewan will stay in place until conditions improve.
