Want to keep up with the construction happening in your neighbourhood this summer? There’s a map for that.
The City of Edmonton launched the 2016 Construction On Your Streets Map this week. The interactive map is based on 170 projects listed in the city’s Open Data Catalogue and will be updated as projects change throughout the year.
Residents can view the map by ward to find out about construction in their neighbourhood.
The city is spending $402 million on transportation infrastructure construction this year. Projects include more than 127 bridges, interchanges, and arterial, collector and local roads spanning approximately 425 kilometres.
Details:
- $80 million in arterial roads projects
- $98 million in bridge and interchange projects
- $137 million in neighbourhood renewal projects
- $26 million in projects related to active modes of transportation and complete streets
- $51 million in traffic operations projects
- $10 million in other transportation projects
There are also 17 major projects by private developers that are included on the map.
The map is designed to be used by residents, but city staff will also be utilizing it to help plan events and share information.
The city also has a map showing current traffic disruptions.
