Graham and Monica Driscoll of Falmouth, Nova Scotia decided to announce the sex of their second baby with a fiery bang – Apr 5, 2016

Finding out you’re having a baby is big news — finding out the gender, well, that can lead to a few explosions if you’re this couple.

In a video posted to YouTube on April 2, Graham and Monica Driscoll, along with their son, Bennett, turned to explosives to announce the gender of their second baby.

“The idea just came to me and it snowballed from there,” Graham, a licensed pyrotechnician, told Global News on Tuesday.

The couple, from Falmouth, Nova Scotia, entrusted the fireworks company Fireworks FX with their big secret, leaving them to put the dynamite reveal together.

“We had no idea, none,” Graham said. “We got the envelope from the hospital with the results and that went right to the fireworks company.”

Mom and dad were just as amazed to learn the outcome as everyone else who was there for the exciting display.

Fireworks light up the sky in the video as the family counts down, “Three! two! one!” until the tell-all explosion went off.

“Oh was that pink!” Graham can be heard saying as Monica and Bennet, and several others, laugh and cheer excitedly.

“Oh it’s a girl!”

The parents hug each other as soon-to-be big brother Bennet jumps enthusiastically behind them.

“We got to do it in a really ‘unique to us way’ — it’s suiting,” Graham said.

The video has already received more than 13,000 views on Youtube and the post on Graham’s Facebook page has dozens of comments from excited family and friends.

Graham, Monica and Bennett are expecting the new addition to their family to arrive in late July.
