If you want to have your voice heard by the Alberta NDP ahead of the 2016 budget, which will be released on April 14, here’s how.
Premier Rachel Notley and Finance Minister Joe Ceci will hold two telephone town hall meetings this week to give Albertans the chance to ask questions and answer poll questions about the upcoming budget.
“We know many hard-working Albertans, families and businesses are facing serious challenges due to the collapse of oil prices,” Notley said in a news release Monday. “It is important to hear directly from Albertans as we deliver our plan to support jobs and families through this downturn and emerge stronger than ever.”
The finance minister said given how much the province’s economy has changed since the last budget was tabled, in October 2015, the telephone meetings will give Albertans a chance to share their priorities with the government.

The town hall meetings will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday night from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Tuesday meeting is intended for northern Alberta residents, while the Wednesday meeting is meant for those who live in southern Alberta.
All publicly listed telephone numbers in Alberta will be called and invited to participate in the call.
Cellphone users can dial into the call 10 minutes before it starts at 1-877-229-8493 (event code 114591).
Those who want to guarantee their place on the call can register online in advance.
Albertans can also listen, submit questions and answer the poll questions online.
