Blue Jays’ Dickey recovering from knee surgery

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher R.A. Dickey throws against the Los Angeles Angels during first inning AL baseball action in Toronto on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013.

Blue Jays pitcher R.A. Dickey has revealed he underwent knee surgery in this past off-season, but expects to be in shape for the upcoming season, according to reports.

Pitchers and catchers are reporting to Dunedin, Fla., For the start of training camp, where the 41-year-old knuckleballer told MLB.com he’s on the mend from a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Dickey reportedly sustained the injury at the end of last season, which might account for a poor post-season performance where he pitched 1.2 innings, giving up four earned runs to Kansas City, running up at 21.6 ERA.
