CALGARY – The Calgary Humane Society is searching for the owner of a neglected dog found in the community of Abbeydale on Monday.
The brown and white female dog, which resembles a basenji or bull terrier type, was found running around Saint Kateri Tekakwitha School in the 1000 block of Abbotsford Drive N.E.
The humane society said the dog has “multiple large masses” on her hind end and is in need of surgical intervention.
“The condition of this dog is concerning,” Brad Nichols, senior manager, Animal Cruelty Investigations, said. “We need to identify this dog so we can talk to the owner(s) and get a medical history.”
Anyone who recognizes the dog is asked to report the identity of the owner or the address of their home to the Calgary Humane Society by calling (403) 205-4455.
