Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Halifax and the surrounding area, which could see anywhere from 15-20 centimetres of snow fall as a low-pressure system tracks across the region.
To start off, up to 20 millimetres of rain could fall, but that is expected to change to snow in the afternoon. It will intensify through the afternoon and continue through the evening. Overnight, flurries are expected.

It doesn’t look like high winds will be coming, but the rapidly falling snow can impede travel and make visibility poor in some areas, so commuters are reminded to be extra careful on the roads.
The city is advising that crews will be doing overnight snow removal and brining the city streets to prepare for the snow.
Waste collection will go ahead as planned for Friday, but the city is asking residents to make sure their waste isn’t in the path of plows.
