WINNIPEG — Drivers running on empty may want to head to the nearest gas station to fill up.
On Wednesday afternoon, gas prices around Winnipeg were averaging around 81.1 cents per litre, according to GasBuddy.com. But many stations in the city are sitting at 75.4 cents per litre.
If drivers are really hoping to save some cash, fuel at Costco on Regent Avenue and Peguis Street is as low as 69.9 cents a litre.
You have to go back to 2003 to find the average gas price lower than the posted price Wednesday in Winnipeg. Back then it was 67.6 cents per litre.
Historical data on winnipeggasprices.ca goes back to 2005. In that time the monthly average price hasn’t dipped below 76 cents per litre.
