A Saskatchewan RCMP officer is being saluted for playing Santa Claus after finding some lost Christmas presents.
Mounties say the Swift Current detachment member was on patrol last weekend when he discovered a tote bag with wrapped gifts inside on the Trans-Canada Highway near the community of Tompkins.
The constable learned through the RCMP dispatch centre that the bag had been reported missing.
He met with the owner in Swift Current earlier this week and the presents are now headed to some happy recipients in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
