Bill Cosby files lawsuit against 7 sexual assault accusers

Bill Cosby‘s lawyer, Monique Pressley, revealed today through a press release and legal statement that Cosby is suing seven of the women who have accused him of sexually assaulting them.

The comedian and storied TV veteran is suing Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz, Louisa Moritz, Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis, and Angela Leslie for their “malicious, opportunistic, and false and defamatory accusations of sexual misconduct” against him.

Cosby is suing the women for defamation, “tortious interference and intentional infliction of emotional distress.” He flat-out denies drugging or sexually assaulting any of the women, and states that their accusations have irrevocably damaged his career, reputation and quality of life.

The Cosby Show actor is seeking an unspecified amount of money in damages, and an immediate end to the accusers’ “false” stories of sex assault.

Over the past year, Cosby has been accused by over 50 women of rape, drug-facilitated sexual assault, sexual battery and/or sexual misconduct. His career has been virtually destroyed, with multiple venues cancelling appearances by the comedian, and at least 20 colleges and universities have rescinded honourary degrees bestowed on him in the past.
