The Calgary Zoo made the announcement on Friday, saying the wee cubs will travel to the facility with their parents Er Shun and Da Mao.

The panda parents are on loan from China, and although it was announced in 2012 that they would travel to Calgary following a stay at the Toronto Zoo, it wasn’t known if the cubs would join them.

The president and CEO of the Calgary Zoo said Friday the cubs are in a critical time of development, but experts have been encouraged by their progress.

“We are near the finalization of our panda exhibit designs which will accommodate the four animals as well as providing additional room should Er Shun conceive here in Calgary,” Dr. Clément Lanthier said in a news release. “We are excited to bring the magic of pandas back to our community as part of our master plan.”
