VIDEO:  Raccoon rescue caught on camera

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. –  Global News cameraman Jeremy Cohn is often shooting late-night emergency collision scenes but caught an unusual  sight on Saturday night.

Jeremy was on hand while Peel police and Mississauga Animal Services worked to free a fat raccoon wedged into metal siding at the Bell Canada building on Creekbank Road.

After two hours, the raccoon rescuers managed to pry the metal siding apart and yank the critter out. The raccoon appeared unharmed and waddled gingerly towards the Global News van. Although the doors were left open, he decided not to catch a ride and loped off into the night.
