EDMONTON — A 55-year-old woman died in hospital after being struck by a vehicle in north Edmonton Saturday evening.
The pedestrian collision happened around 5:25 p.m. on 137 Avenue near 119 Street. Police arrived to find the woman lying on the road, suffering from multiple injuries.
She was taken by EMS to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The woman died on Sunday after being taken off life support.
Edmonton police collision investigators believe the woman was jaywalking across 137 Avenue, when she was hit by a Toyota vehicle that was driving west.
Polcie say they are not contemplating any charges at this time. This is the city’s 32nd traffic fatality of 2015.
*EDITOR’S NOTE: This article originally stated the woman’s age was 50. Police later corrected their original news release and said her age was 55.
