Not surprisingly, Blue Jays-themed costumes were popular. Some people tried recreating Toronto’s most iconic sports moment of this year, or perhaps any recent year.
While others went as a genuine baseball villain: Kansas City Royals fan Caleb Humphreys, who became Toronto’s public enemy #1 during the American League Championship Series when he interfered with a ball in play and created a very questionable home run.
How about a famous local animal? Like the Pan Am Games mascot Pachi, a Raptor or perhaps the late albino squirrel from Trinity Bellwoods Park? No, one woman chose a different local critter only celebrated after his death: “Conrad,” the dead raccoon who briefly brought people together in mourning last July.
The white squirrel did get some love though, as another ambitious local dressed up as the landmark he called home.
