Star Trek is returning to the small screen in January 2017.

CBS announced Monday that the new Star Trek television series will air one preview episode on television, and the rest only on its streaming service CBS All Access.

The new series will also be offered internationally, according to a CBS press release, but it’s not clear if any Canadian television stations or streaming services have picked up the show.

The show will introduce new, yet to be named, characters.

Alex Kurtzman, who co-wrote and produced the 2009 Star Trek film as well as the 2013 Star Trek Into Darkness is slated to be the executive producer of the show.

The franchise launched in 1966 and will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year.
