Tour bus fire cuts short Whoopi Goldberg’s show in NB

MONCTON, N.B. – A fire at a New Brunswick casino has forced comedian Whoopi Goldberg to cut short a show.

RCMP and staff at Casino New Brunswick in Moncton confirmed there was a fire on Goldberg’s tour bus during Saturday night’s “An Evening with Whoopi Goldberg.”

In a news release on facebook, Casino New Brunswick said the fire started as the show was ending. Officials said everyone was evacuated safely and local fire crews put out the fire.

The Twitter account Maritime Tweeters posted images of a tour bus in flames. The tweet claims the bus is Whoopi Goldberg’s.

A woman who was attending the event said members of the audience started smelling smoke near the end of Goldberg’s show.

Sarah Bissett said people started making their way toward the doors but there was no panic.
